Old Chapel tours take place Fridays from 12 – 1 pm with a Moravian Daily Text reading at 12:15 pm. This short daily devotion has been a part of Moravian tradition since 1731. Guests will be welcomed to visit and learn more about the 1751 Old Chapel, where George Washington and Benjamin Franklin worshipped, and which welcomed local Native Americans as well as German settlers in its early history. The Chapel is still used for Sunday worship, memorial services, weddings and other church events.
Ever want to see inside the amazing 1806 Central Moravian Church – or learn more about the architecture, its iconic Belfry, special areas like the Kleiner Saal with a 19th century organ, original pulpit, etc. and also learn about the living ministries of this active congregation? Join us for tours of the Central Moravian Church every Saturday from 2-4 pm, including the Sanctuary, Kleiner Saal, and learn about the living ministries of this active congregation. Tours will be held every half hour. (Enter by the doors on the NE side, near church green). A gift shop will be open as well.
