1001 W Union Blvd Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Sunday, April 6th from 10AM-3PM

Contra dance is a New England Folk dance similar to square dancing – you dance with a partner (but no partner needs to come) in long lines to live, vigorous music.  The moves are called by a live caller who teaches each dance with a walk through.  Bring soft soled shoes like sneakers so as not to mark the lovely wooden floor. Lesson starts at 7 to teach the figures used in each dance.  Children under 12 free with a paying adult.  Students $8.

If you love cool local art, great music, and tasty drinks, you won’t want to miss the Steel City Fair on May 3 from 1-6 PM in the Sun Inn Courtyard in Downtown Bethlehem. Adapted from Margaret Wise Brown’s 60-year-old classic children’s book, Goodnight Moon celebrates familiar nighttime rituals, while The Runaway Bunny’s pretend tale of leaving home evokes reassuring responses from his loving mother. Both stories feature endearing animal puppets, stunning scenic effects, and evocative music that have earned international recognition for Mermaid Theatre. The hour-long staged adaptation brings a fresh appreciation of the stories and images that have delighted several generations.
