Expedia names Bethlehem among cities that give you the worst case of FOMO
Expedia.com, one of the leading internet based travel websites, has listed Bethlehem, PA as one of fourteen cities that give you the worst case of FOMO. FOMO, or the fear of missing out, is that “feeling you get when you’re in the middle of having fun, but get this sinking feeling that you’re missing out on something even better” says Expedia’s Chloe Mulliner.
The rise of social media is inevitably to blame for more frequent FOMO flare ups. Though, Mulliner encourages it simply means there are too many awesome attractions and events that you’ll have a hard time squeezing everything in. To this, Bethlehem is no stranger.
Our diverse City fondly has been coined “Fest-lehem” due to the increasing number of festivals the City hosts throughout the year, including the country’s largest free music festival, Musikfest. The article also notes two summertime favorites Blueberry Festival and VegFest. Blueberry Festival, as one would assume, celebrates the delicious fruit in its peak season with blueberry themed goods, cook-offs and eating contests; while VegFest serves up dynamic vegan dishes, products and holistic services. Not to mention Celtic Classic, Harvest Festival and Oktoberfest. You don’t want to miss Celtic Classic’s wildly entertaining Highland Games, Oktoberfest’s German inspired festivities or Harvest Festival’s community celebration of the Fall season.
Expedia.com also recognized the Christmas City’s Christmas activities, highlighting Christkindlmarkt, Live Advent Calendar, Christmas City Stroll and the Bethlehem By Night bus tour. Believe it when we say this is just the tip of the holiday iceberg.
Bethlehem is honored to be listed next to cities like San Diego, CA, Breckenridge, CO, Jackson Hole WY, and Rockland, ME. No matter what time of year it is we are happily dishing out FOMO to our residents and visitors.
